Sinubabayan ng sambayan ang Miss Universe 2018 na ginanap sa Bangkok Lunes ng Disyembre 17, 2018.
Nanalo bilang Miss Universe 2018 ang Pilipinas at kinoronahan si Catriona Gray matapos ang dalawang taong pagkatalo sa Miss World bilang beauty queen.
Simula pa lamang sa kanilang Preliminary Competition, nakuha na ni Catriona ang puso ng sambayanan dahil sa kanyang slow-motion twirl ng rumampa ito sa entablado.

Sa papasok ng Top 3, ang unang tinawag ay ang Philippines, kasunod ng South Africa at ang pangatlo ay ang Venezuela.
Sigawan ang mga tao sa loob ng Impact Arena matapos sumagot ng Question and Answer portion si Catriona Gray. Narito ang kanyang winning answer sa Miss Universe 2018.
“What is the most imporant lesson you’ve learned in your life and how would you apply it to your time as Miss Universe?
Sagot ni Catriona, “I work a lot in the slums of Tondo, Manila and the life there is… it’s poor and very sad. And I’ve always taught myself to look for the beauty of it, to look for the beauty in the faces of the children and to be grateful. And I would bring this aspect as a Miss Universe, to see situations with a silver lining, and to assess where I could give something, where I could provide something as a spokesperson. If I could teach also people to be grateful, we could have an amazing world where negativity could not grow and foster and children would have a smile on their faces. Thank You.
Nakasuot ng red gown si Catriona Gray na ginawa ni Mak Tumang. Ayon kay Catriona, naging inspirasyon niya ang Mayon Volcano dahil sa kagandahan nito at sa mythological heroine na si ‘Daragang Magayon’.
Sa Facebook page ng kanyang gown designer na si Mak Tumang, ibinahagi niya ang simbolo ng red gown na suot ni Catriona.
“Today, Catriona is coming home. She is celebrating her roots, she is celebrating Albay! The prominent and iconic Mayon Volcano is the penultimate inspiration for this creation. It is dubbed the ‘perfect cone’ because of its symmetric conical form. Folk tales have it that it was named after the mythological heroine ‘Daragang Magayon’ (Beautiful Lady)”.

Kabang-kaba ang sambayan lalo na sa Pilipinas ng tawaging 2nd runner up sa Miss Universe ang Venezuela dahil alam nilang dalawa na lamang ang maglalaban para sa Korona ng Miss Universe 2018.
Nang tawagin na ni Steve Harvey ang Miss universe 2018, palakpakan ang lahat ng marinig nila ang Philippines ang nanalo ng Korona.
